Anna Kendrick's 'Secret Feud' with Blake Lively Over Another Simple Favor Billing

Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are reportedly embroiled in a secret feud over billing for Another Simple Favor.

According to Daily Mail, Anna is absolutely fuming over Blake’s failure to address how her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni is casting a dark cloud over their upcoming movie Another Simple Favor. What was supposed to be an easy, breezy promotional tour is now a chaotic mess thanks to Lively’s very public and very messy legal issues.

Blake, who’s currently in the midst of a nasty lawsuit with her former It Ends with Us co-star and director, Baldoni, has allegedly made no effort to address the situation with the cast and crew of Another Simple Favor.

According to sources, “there is a gigantic pink elephant in the room that no one is acknowledging,” referring to the backlash the movie has already received. Blake, it seems, has stayed silent and “hidden away.” She’s reportedly refused to apologize to the cast, with insiders claiming that Anna Kendrick is particularly fed up. According to one source, “Anna is just over all of it,” adding that if she were in Blake’s shoes, she wouldn’t be letting her personal issues affect the film's success.

The drama doesn’t stop there—there’s also been a tense back-and-forth between the two actresses over billing. According to sources, Kendrick expected to maintain the top billing she had in the original film, but Blake reportedly pushed to have her name listed first.

After weeks of negotiations, they settled on “staggered billing,” where Anna’s name appears first, but Blake’s is on the right-hand side. Neither party was thrilled with the compromise, but they agreed because they knew they had to resolve it for the sake of the movie.

This isn’t the first time tension has been reported between Kendrick and Lively. While promoting A Simple Favor, rumors of friction between the two actresses circulated, with some fans reading between the lines of their sarcastic comments and passive-aggressive interactions.

Kendrick, in particular, had some pointed words when she mocked Lively's claim that she would never be a Disney princess without Kendrick’s voice.

Now, with the backlash surrounding Lively’s legal battles, Kendrick has reportedly been reluctant to promote the film. Fans are calling out Blake for her alleged behavior, with one user commenting on a promo poster, “Did Ryan rewrite a scene?” in reference to Lively's involvement in rewriting parts of It Ends with Us. Others have vowed not to watch the movie because of Lively’s ongoing drama, further fueling the rift between the two stars.

Meanwhile, sources claim Lively has been given a private coach to help her navigate the situation, and the filmmakers are scrambling to ensure the focus remains on the movie and not her legal issues.

In a last-ditch effort to salvage the promotion, some have even discussed skipping the Q&A at the SXSW Film Festival or making a public statement afterward to steer the conversation solely toward the film. Feig, the director, also posted the promotional image but notably tagged everyone except Blake—only to later defend her publicly, calling her an “amazing collaborator.”
